Best Buy will have a cheap Compaq laptop on sale for just $399.99 from July 6 till July 12. Put in a cheap $35 upgrade to get 2GB RAM instead of the installed 1GB and you have a laptop perfect for almost every home use like emails, surfing, banking, etc. Rest of the features – dual core processor, 160GB hard drive, dvd burner, wireless, etc.
If you are not too finicky about speed, you can ignore the RAM upgrade as well. Model number is C762NR.
