Starting Sunday, August 30, Office Max will sell the Canon S5IS digital camera for just $249.99, down from its earlier price of $349.99. This is a great camera, in the same league as the fantastic Panasonic Lumix FZ line. You get 8.0 megapixels, 2.5” LCD viewer and 12x optical zoom with image stabilization. More importantly, the camera does not use any proprietary batteries. Note that this is not a compact camera.
The sale is in store only and given the very limited supplies, I suggest you buy one today (if your local store actually has stock) and adjust the price after the sale begins to avoid disappointment. Sale starts Sunday, August 30 and ends Saturday, September 6.
