Two online savings accounts, each with 3.75% APY yield. Both are from banks with a high safety rating (frankly, this is overblown – as long your total is below $100,000 and the bank is FDIC insured, it DOES NOT matter!!).
The first offering is from Dollar Savings Direct, from the people who brought you Emigrant Direct. Why they had to start a new bank – I have no idea. The only restriction here is the minimum balance requirement which is $1,000.
The next option is OnBank, the online division of M&T Bank, again a highly rated bank. They are also offering a 3.75% APY.
Both banks are FDIC insured.
